BC省府宣布，为让民众在紧急情况下更安全及更了解状况，将向19个社区提供资金，以制定及升级紧急疏散路线计划和公共通知计划。
BC省府将通过社区应急准备基金向相关社区提供超过88万，制定及更新计划，例如当地紧急警报系统，以便在发生紧急情况时，向民众提供信息。
获资助的项目，亦包括制定及审查疏散路线、地理位置、交通方式，以及可用性的其他因素；加强三市的疏散行动准备，并增强北温哥华区北岸的整体社区综合复原力；确定疏散路线及运输能力，并开发有效的通知系统。
另外，资助以便向 Kitasoo Xai’xais 原住民社区清楚地传达疏散程序，以及评估Cariboo地区连接 108 Mile Ranch 与周边地区的现有道路网络，识别潜在的樽颈及障碍，并在必要时提出替代路线。
省应急管理及气候准备厅长马博文表示，最近在BC省偏远地区发生的山火，令到社区面临与其他地区隔绝的风险，故突出表明需要制定良好、先进的规划，以确保居民能够安全撤离。
省府同时知道，原住民及地方政府可以向民众提供最新信息，以确保他们的安全。今次资金将有助确保BC省居民在灾难发生时，能够安全离开该地区，并改善紧急通知、在紧急情况下向民众发出警报及沟通。
