继联邦政府早前发放了育儿福利，卑诗省政府今天也宣布发钱。卑诗省内所有2007年以后生的孩子，可以领取由卑诗省培训和教育基金会（the B.C. Training and Education Savings Grant）提供的$1,200未来高等教育启动资金。
领取资格：
家中有9岁或以下的儿童；
为孩子登记“注册教育储蓄计划”（Registered Education Savings Plan）；
低收入家庭也可领取。
现在开始，为孩子上大学做好准备
教育部长伯尼尔（Mike Bernier）说，国家的发展需要高等教育型人才源源不断向社会输送。未来10年，将有78%的工作只有受过高等教育和培训的人才能胜任。为此，省府愿意和家长一起，从现在开始为孩子储蓄一个美好未来。现由省府先提供$1,200作为启动资金，如果每位家长每个月可为孩子存入50元，那等他们上大学的时候，最高每人可获得$12,000教育基金。
